In the past couple of weeks I have been reading a book called Fahrenheit 451. Some of you well recognize that the temperature is the temperature that paper burns. As I read the book I made some connections to it. Ray Bradbury wrote the book in the 1950s. But he predicted some of the things we use now. The book's main character or protagonist is called Montag. Montag is a fireman in the book. But, the firemen are not the same as we have in our world. These firemen set fires instead of putting them out. In Montag's world books are prohibited. When someone is in possession or suspected of having a book their home is sent on fire. Montag just does what he is told and burns down houses when told to. He then gets his mind thinking when a little girl questions everything he does. This girl always talked to him at the same place at the same time. Then one day she no longer went there.
